The Men’s Jordan Spizike is the classic hybrid Air Jordan design by Spike Lee. The renowned, Oscar-winning film director is also an Air Jordan expert, having history with Michael Jordan’s sneakers dating back to the 1980s. Lee’s affiliation with Jordan Brand officially began when he appeared as Mars Blackmon in the original commercial campaign for the Air Jordan 3 in 1988. Years, numerous ad campaigns, and classic catch phrases like, “It’s gotta be the shoes!” later, Lee was given the chance to help design his own silhouette for the brand. The final result was the Spizike, which combined elements of the original four Air Jordan models that Lee appeared in commercials as Mars Blackmon for: the Air Jordan 3, Air Jordan 4, Air Jordan 5, and Air Jordan 6. Recognizable details found on the Spizike include the sole and elephant print panels of the Jordan 3, the triangular lacing “wings” of the Jordan 4, and the larger rubberized tongue of the Jordan 6, just to name a few.
